Food4Kids started when a 10-year-old boy waited outside the locked doors of a school breakfast program. The program was to start at 8:15, and the child stood outside at 7:15 in the dark, cold and alone. He explained he had no food on the weekend and was hungry. Could he please have some food? This child inspired the launch of the Food4Kids program.
Food4Kids Halton provides packages of healthy food for elementary school students with little or no access to food during the weekend and throughout the summer.
On May 7th when you visit with us for your family portraits, we ask that you help support the local Halton branch by bringing any of these items or alternatively support with a donation.
- Soup (cans 248 ml) chicken noodles, vegetables, or tomato
- Chick/Turkey/Salmon/Ham (canned)
- Baked Beans (in tomato sauce)
- Annie’s or Kraft Mac & Cheese (any type)
- Canned Pasta
I recently spoke to the Executive Director of the Halton location, and I was sad to learn that there are over 1,000 children in need currently. Food4Kids feeds over 1000 kids each week.
Did you know it costs over $700 to feed one child for the year?
Our goal is to feed at least two children for one year with your support, let’s fill some hungry tummy’s and make a difference.
Please help us reach our goal of feeding two children for one year.
